Travel Information

Deauville is extremely accessible - not far from the motorway which crosses Lower Normandy from east to west and with its own train station which serves local centres and the French capital.

Deauville by Road

By far the easiest way to get to Deauville is to use the A13 motorway and then turn off onto the feeder A132:

  • the A132 to the south
The A132 is accessed by leaving the A13 at Pont-l'Évêque and heading north towards the coast. The road funnels into the D677 with options for Deauville and Trouville.

but there is also the option of the coastal route from either direction:

  • the D513 along the coast
To the east this small coastal road is accessed via Trouville across the river and heads around the coast towards Honfleur. To the west the road runs through a couple of resort towns before heading southwest to Caen after Cabourg.

The Bus Verts du Calvados offer local services to nearby towns and to the regional centre of Caen.

Deauville by Rail

Deauville hosts the railway station which serves both the town and its neighbour Trouville. It is located close to the river Touques near the main bridge and offers services to regional centres as well as a regular connection through to Paris St. Lazare.

Deauville by Air

The Deauville-Normandie airport is in the countryside to the east of Deauville and Trouville. There is a scheduled air service which runs a number of times a week to London City Airport.

The other relatively local airport is Caen Carpiquet which may be useful if flying from some European airports or French cities.

However, most air travellers will be looking for more of a choice and in this case it is difficult to overlook the attractions of the capital. Paris - Charles de Gaulle Airport is the main international airport and is around 220km from Deauville.

Deauville by Ferry

Visitors to Deauville have a choice between Le Havre or Caen (actually Ouistreheim) for nearby Channel ferries. Le Havre offers daily services to and from Portsmouth, run by LD Lines, while Caen serves Portsmouth with Britanny Ferries.
